Learning Systems Diagnostic

Before your team builds another course, find out what is actually breaking.

I review the learning experience, workflow, practice, feedback, performance support, and evidence around a real business problem. You leave with a prioritized recommendation your team can use, not a generic strategy deck.

Focused on one real problem Practical recommendations No long-term commitment

The problem this solves

Teams often start building before they know what needs to change.

A stakeholder asks for a course. The team starts producing content. Weeks later, the real barrier turns out to be workflow, feedback, unclear expectations, missing practice, or a lack of support at the moment of need.

Before

The request is treated as the diagnosis.

The team receives a solution request and begins designing before the performance problem is clear.

During

The whole learning system is examined.

The review looks beyond content to the decisions, supports, feedback, environment, and evidence surrounding the work.

After

The team knows what to do next.

You receive a prioritized plan that identifies what to stop, fix, build, support, and measure.

Two paths, one decision

One of these paths ends with another course nobody asked for.

Learning Systems Signal Check

A structured check before you build anything — seven short steps to see whether training is actually the right call, or whether the Diagnostic should dig deeper first. About 8–10 minutes.

The flagship engagement

Learning Systems Diagnostic

A focused review of one learning or performance challenge. The engagement is intentionally contained so your team can get clarity without committing to a large consulting project.

Kickoff and context review: align on the business problem, audience, constraints, and desired outcome.
Artifact and experience review: examine the existing course, workflow, onboarding path, job aids, feedback, scenarios, or supporting materials.
Systems diagnosis: identify the gaps between the requested solution and what performance actually requires.
Prioritized recommendation: receive a practical roadmap organized by impact, effort, and urgency.
Readout and decision support: walk through the findings and decide what should happen next.

A good fit when

The team is moving, but confidence is low.

You do not need a perfectly defined problem before reaching out. The fit check is designed to determine whether a diagnostic would actually help.

A stakeholder has requested training, but the team is not convinced training alone will solve the problem.
An onboarding or enablement experience exists, but people are still struggling after completion.
Scenarios, practice, or feedback feel too easy, generic, or disconnected from the work.
The team needs an outside perspective before investing more time or budget.
Leaders want evidence that learning changed performance, not just proof that people completed something.

How it works

A contained engagement with a clear finish line.

01

Fit check

Share the problem, team, timeline, and what has already been tried.

02

Scope

We define the specific system, artifacts, stakeholders, and decision the diagnostic needs to support.

03

Diagnose

I review the experience, supporting materials, workflow, and available evidence.

04

Recommend

You receive a prioritized roadmap and a readout focused on the decisions your team needs to make.

After the diagnostic

Keep the recommendation, or bring me back to help implement it.

The diagnostic stands on its own. Additional support is optional and scoped only when it helps move the work forward.

Redesign

Learning experience redesign

Rework the learning flow, practice, scenarios, feedback, or performance support based on the diagnostic.

Enablement

Team workshops

Help the team apply the recommendations through working sessions, design reviews, and practical tools.

Advisory

Project decision support

Stay involved as a second set of eyes while the internal team executes the plan.

Working principles

Learning is a system, not an event.
Feedback should coach, not merely grade.
Completion is not evidence of performance.
The recommendation has to survive real constraints.

Start with the problem

Tell me what your team is trying to fix.

The fit check takes about three minutes. If a diagnostic is the right next step, we will scope it. If it is not, I will tell you that too.

No pitch. No obligation. No mystery engagement.
