Legal + Resource Use

Resource License

This Resource License explains how you may use free and downloadable resources from Learning Rewired Lab, including Field Guides, Resource Lab patterns, templates, checklists, worksheets, code examples, and related materials.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Plain-English summary

You may use Learning Rewired Lab resources for your own learning, professional development, internal work projects, portfolio practice, prototypes, and non-commercial learning design work.

You may adapt the resources for your own projects, but you may not resell, repackage, redistribute, or claim the original resources as your own.

Tiny translation: use the tools, learn from them, adapt them thoughtfully, but please do not turn the Lab into your Etsy template shop wearing a fake mustache.

2. What this license covers

This license applies to Learning Rewired Lab resources, downloads, templates, field guides, checklists, worksheets, code snippets, interaction patterns, diagrams, prototypes, and other practical learning design materials unless a specific resource includes different terms.

Some paid products, future subscriptions, workshops, client work, custom tools, or product-specific resources may include separate terms or license conditions.

3. Permitted uses

You may use Learning Rewired Lab resources for reasonable personal, educational, and professional purposes.

You may:

  • Use resources for personal learning and professional development.
  • Use resources inside your own internal workplace projects.
  • Adapt templates, checklists, examples, and frameworks for your own learning design work.
  • Use code snippets and interaction patterns as starting points for prototypes or internal builds.
  • Reference Learning Rewired Lab resources in presentations, articles, or discussions with reasonable attribution.
  • Share links to public Learning Rewired Lab pages so others can access the original source.
  • Use resources as inspiration for your own custom learning design systems, provided you are not copying or repackaging the original materials.

4. Not permitted

You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or repackage Learning Rewired Lab resources in ways that exceed this license.

You may not:

  • Sell Learning Rewired Lab resources as standalone products.
  • Upload the resources to template marketplaces, stock sites, course marketplaces, or paid resource libraries.
  • Redistribute downloadable files as your own.
  • Remove Learning Rewired Lab attribution from resources that include attribution.
  • Use the resources to create a competing resource library, template shop, marketplace, or paid product collection.
  • Copy substantial parts of the website, writing, visual system, interaction model, or resource structure and present them as your own work.
  • Use Learning Rewired Lab branding, names, logos, product names, or marks in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership, or ownership without written permission.

5. Commercial use

You may use Learning Rewired Lab resources to support your own client or employer work as part of a broader custom project, provided the resource is adapted and not resold as a standalone product.

For example, you may use a checklist, field guide, or interaction pattern to help shape your internal design process or client deliverable. You may not simply rebrand the original Learning Rewired Lab resource and sell, license, distribute, or publish it as your own product.

You may not sell, license, or distribute the original resource files directly to clients, customers, third-party platforms, marketplaces, or paid communities unless you have written permission.

6. Attribution

Attribution is appreciated when practical. It is especially important when you publicly reference, demonstrate, teach, remix, or share a modified version of a Learning Rewired Lab resource.

Suggested attribution:

Adapted from Learning Rewired Lab by Andy Campbell.

Attribution is not required for small internal adaptations, but it is required if a resource itself says attribution is required or if you publicly share a modified version.

Attribution does not grant permission to resell, redistribute, repackage, or claim ownership of the original resource.

7. Ownership

Learning Rewired Lab resources, original writing, frameworks, design patterns, visual systems, templates, downloadable materials, prototypes, code structures, and related intellectual property remain owned by Andy Campbell or Learning Rewired Lab unless otherwise stated.

Using, downloading, adapting, or referencing a resource does not transfer ownership of the original material.

8. Code examples and prototypes

Some Learning Rewired Lab resources may include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Storyline-related examples, interface ideas, or interactive prototypes.

These materials are provided as starter patterns, examples, and learning design demonstrations. They may require review, testing, adaptation, accessibility checks, browser testing, security review, and production hardening before use in live environments.

You may use small code snippets and interaction patterns as starting points for your own prototypes or internal builds, but you may not clone an entire Learning Rewired Lab product, page, resource system, or branded experience and present it as your own.

9. AI-assisted materials

Some Learning Rewired Lab resources, page copy, examples, visuals, code snippets, prototypes, or templates may be created, revised, organized, or refined with AI assistance.

Unless otherwise stated, Learning Rewired Lab materials remain owned by Andy Campbell or Learning Rewired Lab regardless of whether AI tools assisted in their creation.
